Practice Hands-On Massage Technique

Clinical Orthopedic Massage for the Gluteal Region

Lower back pain is one of the most common complaints encountered by massage therapists, and the structure and function of the pelvis and gluteal muscles often plays a role in lower back dysfunction and discomfort. Gluteal muscles are also involved in conditions like sciatica, IT band syndrome, and other dysfunction of the lower extremities.

The glutes may be a sensitive area for many massage clients to have massaged, and clear and open communication between client and massage therapist helps pave the way for effective treatment plans. This class seeks to increase massage therapists’ confidence and skill in discussing and treating the gluteal region to aid in treating a number of orthopedic conditions of the lower body.

**All participants must have a current, valid, and unexpired massage license or other license that allows the practice of manual soft-tissue manipulation (such as PT or PTA).**
