Spotlight on Sciatica: A Massage Therapist’s Guide

Sciatica is a common complaint that many massage therapists hear from their clients. However, sciatica is a broad term for what is often a more complicated neurologic condition.

This course seeks to provide massage therapists with a more comprehensive understanding of the types of conditions that produce the neurogenic pain often described as sciatica, including the anatomy and biomechanics that may be involved.

This course will then delve into how a deeper understanding of the condition can lead to more effective massage treatment plans and clearer communication between the therapist and the client; as well as preparing the therapist to integrate their treatment with other orthopedic professionals as a part of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to treatment.
